(01) Overview

Stream Tech build rafts and drift boats to order. Every hull leaves the shop different, which means no photograph is ever quite the boat a customer is buying. We built the configurator that shows them theirs.

(02) The challenge

Photoreal rendering usually happens offline. Getting that finish — wet tube rubber, powdercoat, printed art wraps — into something that loads and turns in a browser, while a price stays accurate underneath it, is the hard part.

(03) What we built

A web-optimised 3D model for each of the Salmonfly, Steelhead and PMD, with option groups for dry boxes and foam, cooler decks, powdercoat, covers and spare oars. The Boat Art group applies a custom printed wrap directly onto the tubes in the render. A running total sits at the bottom of the screen and moves as options are chosen, with a clear note that Stream Tech issues the official quote.

  • Three models on one real-time 3D engine
  • Printed Boat Art wraps rendered onto the tubes
  • Option groups for dry boxes, decks, covers and oars
  • Live running total, carried through to an enquiry
